JunkyGypsy Inspirations (11)

Hey JunkyGypsy Tribe!

I hope you had a truly inspiring weekend! I set aside time this weekend for some massive intentional self-care. It was awesome! My last post I focused solely on the art of manifesting. This subject alone is in the top ten for Google topics. Everyone wants a magic formula to create or escape their current situation. Yes, you absolutely can manifest awesomeness into your life. You must know, like I explained in my post, sometimes it takes a while to see the results of manifesting. It could be days, weeks, and even years.

Today, I want to share a subject that has been popping up continuously in my life this year. I think I may have touched on the subject before. It is a subject that everyone enjoys talking about but no one wants to actually do. If ya feel me. It is the subject of self-discipline. Yep, I have read articles, blog posts, and watched YouTube videos and Podcast on this very subject. As if by my listening or reading would magically mean I practiced the act of self discipline. Self discipline means when you have something to do you just do it, regardless of whether you like it or not. I remember as a child enjoying discipline. Weird, right? I enjoyed boundaries and ,”No, Amy you can not..” from my parents. I think it is because in the realm of discipline it kept me in a “safe zone” so to speak. It also made me look like the “good girl”. Which, I certainly was not!

Sweet Sixteen

It all began last week when my fav rock star mentor posted a link to a Podcast. With the very subject of discipline. It was Order of Man Podcast Episode 135 Jocko Willink. I suggest listening to this amazing episode! Anyway, he talks very plainly about people who have honest, raw and real discipline in their life. Simply put these kind of people lead a “no Excuses aloud” lifestyle. They get up, do what is required of them and they don’t take the ( I don’t feel like it) pills. They just do. I asked myself, “What happened to the Amy that used to be like that?” I lost the motivation of self-discipline by becoming a follower of whatever crowd I was trying to please at the time. I was too afraid to live my truth and stand my ground many times in my life. Where as now, I know that being a follower gets you no where in life. Actually, it often gets you in tons of trouble and causes a lot of pain.

Like I said, this subject has been on the forefront of my life this year as one I want to conquer. Just like stepping out of my comfort zone and being uncomfortable, self-discipline is right there beside it. Having sat on this for a few days and figuring out how one can be to implement more discipline in their daily life to guarantee success I came up with this little list of ways you can begin. Self-discipline, like a muscle, can be developed. Just like you, I am implementing these into my life right now. Get out your journal and write these down to save for later when you have a moment where you want to not be so disciplined!

  1. Don’t take the ” I’ll wait till I feel Like it” pill. Just do it!
  2. Stop the excuses! Right now!
  3. Make self-discipline a non-negotiable right now.
  4. Remove temptations!
  5. Practice tolerating emotional discomfort.

Self discipline is something that you can learn by continuous practice, over and over, until you master it.  Once you have mastered the ability to delay gratification, the ability to discipline yourself to keep your attention focused on the most important task in front of you, there is virtually no goal that you cannot accomplish and no task that you cannot complete. There you have it. The key here is self-discipline has to be practiced daily and you must learn to delay gratification! Let go of the ” I want it now.” or the “I deserve it” attitude because it is not serving you in your best. If you truly desire to lead at your highest and best then you have to develop self discipline. I pray this post motivates and inspires you to LIVE intentionally, LOVE with passion, LEARN for life! Manifesting Beauty

JunkyGypsy (4)

Hey, JunkyGypsy Tribe Lovers!

Magic has been happening in my life-like crazy this past month! My life today is vastly different from what it was a month ago. There was a time in my life where I thought I did not have any choices. Now, whenever I think back I say, ” Amy what the hell was wrong with you?” It is crazy to just “let” life happen. This brings me to the topic of discussion today, manifesting! If you are a self-help addict like me then you probably know all about manifesting. If you don’t have a clue to what I am talking about I am going to explain.

th1MUJLDHY

Manifesting is what you do to consciously to create the life you want. It is not magic nor is it a crystal ball. Get that idea out of your head. Manifesting is believing for something you want or desire in your life. A better way to describe it would be simply having faith. Because you want something you can not see or touch. You probably have no idea or plan of the how to get it, either. I once thought that manifesting was total BS. I believed in faith, but as far as actually manifesting something I wanted, I did not think it was possible. It wasn’t until I read a few books on choices and taking responsibility for my life. That I learned manifesting was a real possibility. I had to take full ownership of my life and own up to my mistakes, bad choices and the good choices I made. After, I learned how to take full responsibility of my life then, I could really think about what it was that I wanted. I discovered the things I wanted in life were vastly different from my actual life. This is when I began to believe in the power of manifestation. I changed the way I was thinking and I changed my journaling practice. I approached journaling in a positive way unlike in the past, where my journal was more of a whiners diary. I began the practice of affirmations. I also, made a vision board. This allowed me to physically see what it was I wanted and chart a map to get it. Today, I have manifested my life as it is right now. I sit typing in a beautiful home, in a city I wanted to move to for years. I manifested my two jobs and where they are! I manifested my actual bus ride here. Now, I am working on manifesting business plans.

th

In order for you to begin to manifest the desires in your heart, take ownership of your life. Make a vision board, this gives you a visual of what you want. Next, start saying outloud and writing affirmations that line up with your vision for your life. Write them out everyday! This is key. I have sticky notes all over my room with affirmations on them. Have faith that what you desire will come to you. This next part is the meat behind the manifestation, you must take ACTION in the direction of your dreams and goals for manifesting to work.  There have been times in my life where I really wanted something and I had faith and believed I was truly going to manifest it but, then nothing. Don’t be discouraged when that happens just believe there is something better out there for you. If it is not meant to be it won’t.

I hope this little post has given you a tool you can use to LIVE with intention, to LOVE with passion and LEARN all you can everyday! Get Crazy Inspired to live your dreams! You only get this one life. Make it magical and beautiful. Give all the glory to God in whom it belongs!

Living the Routine

WILD

I promised you guys I was going to share my morning rituals/routines that have shaped me into the woman I am today. I have always had some sort of routine in the morning. I think unconsciously we all have an implanted agenda when we wake up I mean it’s just there. However, when you are not intentional about your mornings your whole day falls apart. I remember years ago when I would wake up, cut the coffee pot on and fill my cup with more sugar than coffee. When the kids were young I would just fall into a go with flow mentality. What would happen on a regular basis was my mood swings. I would think everything was happening to me. I had no control. So, if one of the kids spilled their milk on the floor I would yell and scream. Allow my reaction to control me. The poor children were frightened but, then they would end up in the worst mood ever because of how I reacted. This vicious cycle continued for a while. This is why I want to share with you routines and habits that have formed who I am today. While a lot can be blamed on emotions as I shared the other day. Rituals and routines can have an effect on our minds and thus cause our emotions to change. i.e. you wake up from a bad dream and you immediately are angry from this dream. You get up start your coffee or get water, still all while you feel a sense of frustration. Instead of taking some time to reflect and adjust your mood, you realize your late for work and rush to get dressed and head out the door. You get to work and your boss is mad because you did not meet a deadline, the school calls and your kid is sick again, you forgot to eat breakfast so your stomach hurts and you can’t take lunch because of the deadline. You chug it all up to having a bad day. All day you are in RE-ACTION mode instead of CRE-ATION mode. Now, if you take the same scenario and only change a few things, waking up breathing and intentionally saying, “thank you for this beautiful day. I am letting go whatever that dream was about.”

Then, go start your coffee, oil pull teeth, brush teeth, make your bed and eat breakfast with the kids. Whether you are late or not. The fact is if you set some routines in place you won’t be waking up late to begin with. You are also setting the tone in your home and life. If you can have a WIN in the morning that means you have WON the day! Bad moods don’t happen they are a choice. I always look to people who inspire me and who are successful in their lives and this helps me to create routines that work.

Amy’s  Routine’s & Rituals

Wake up @ 7am–Start the coffee pot

Start Diffuser with a Morning Blend–usually Wild Orange, Peppermint

Morning Magic Blend

10-20 min Oil Pulling with a drop of Melaleuca (tea tree oil)

Brush teeth with On Guard toothpaste

Wash face with a mixture of Frankincense, Melaleuca, Lavender, and apply doTERRA’s Immortelle (anti-aging blend) under my eyes and on my forehead.

Drink 8 to 12 oz. H2O with a few drops of doTERRA’s Slim & Sassy (doTERRA’s metabolic blend)

Take 1  TerraZyme Supplement (good for digestion and stomach) and 1 Mito2Max (which is freaking awesome for energy)

Pray/ Journal/ Worship–this varies on how many devotionals I am working through-currently I am doing 2. 100 Days of Vocabulary/Scripture & 31 Days for the Dreamer & the Doer-this is also, when I write my affirmations out, a goal I am working on, and word of the day.

Worship Music Playlist on Spotify (this is a new habit, I don’t listen to enough Praise & Worship music)

Send Kids Love notes- I like to message each of the every day and it is #2 on my priority list as I am working on building new relationships with each of them right now)

Review calendar Top 3 Priorities for the day–I am not currently working outside of the home so my Top 3 priorities tend to be entrepreneurial–write blog post, update social media, contact 2 prospects etc.

30 min of Personal Development–this usually happens when I go for a run. That way I can utilize my time well

Run/ Exercise 30 to 1 hour–I am doing Couch to 5K again because I like programs that tell me what to do. I also, do sit ups, squats, leg lifts and lift weights on various days

Mantra: I Can, I Will– Every person I encounter today I leave feeling inspired and valued. I say these to myself all day long.

Take LLV/Terrazyme–this is usually right around 12:30-1pm

Write/ Work on Projects–creating content for blog, social media, research is happening-working on my book–etc.

Oils Diffusing-all day I diffuse different blends and I select oils that I feel drawn too.

Creative afternoons/ Meeting people–my artistic activities happen during this time or if I have errands to run.

Dinner/ Whole Foods, Healthy foods-I included this because for a while I was really eating a lot of unhealthy foods and I needed to focus on my health and wellness again.

-date night, watch movie, talk

Read for 30 minutes/ take Serenity gel cap-I do not currently read before I go to sleep because hubby always has the TV on–this is an area I want to change so I included it on my list because it is a priority for me!

With a grateful heart and silent prayers fall asleep and I am ready to do it all again tomorrow!!!

I know this is a lot. It is important for me to see this list daily because it tells me if my priorities are in order or if something is off. My goals for this year are to increase family time, be intentionally present for our children–that may sound weird but its a goal of mine. Trust where the Lord is leading and grow to be the best version of Amy possible! I have a huge burden on my heart to be an example to others, to live daily with integrity, and to be a woman after God’s own heart. I am far from perfect but as long as my eyes are focused on these things then I can catch any behavior that does not line up with my life purpose and mission. This is how I currently show up for myself in my life daily what do you do? This list is ever-changing because we should always be growing and evolving. There are different seasons in life too which will cause it to change.

Here are some examples from highly successful people who are winning in their life and biz!

Tim Ferriss author of the 4 Hour Work Week!

Ange Peters doTERRA Presidential Diamond and a freaking rockstar role model!

One thing I suggest is that once a month go back to your list and see if any adjustments need to be made. If so do that. If you don’t write it down it’s not going to happen! I would love to hear how you show up in your life–leave a comment below!
